AI literacy check

Four questions about which AI you use, who works with it and what is already in place. You get a score, the gaps that weigh most, what each group needs to know and what counts as evidence for Article 4.

4 questions~3 minutesPlan per role

An indication based on your answers, not legal advice. Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, asks providers and deployers of AI to take measures to support the development of AI literacy of their people, suited to their knowledge and the context of use. It does not require you to guarantee any specific level per person.

AI literacy: frequently asked questions

Who in my organisation does it cover?

Everyone who works with AI systems on your behalf: your own staff and also contractors and externals. What they need to know differs by role. HR needs different knowledge from customer service or IT, which is why the check gives a plan per group.

How do I show that I meet Article 4?

The law prescribes no certificate. Practical evidence is: an AI usage policy staff have acknowledged, a record per person of which training was completed on which date, the training material per role, a register of AI tools and the dates of the last and next review.

How is the score calculated?

Every part you tick counts by weight: policy and basic training weigh most, then records per person, the register and role training, then an owner and refreshers, and finally vendor instructions and a reporting point. Together 100 points. The gaps are listed in that order, so you know where to start.

Is the knowledge test suitable for my team?

Yes. Send colleagues the link with #test. The test stores nothing and asks for no details. Then discuss the statements people got wrong most often: they belong in your training.
