Custom software development for Flemish SMEs

Crux Digits builds the software a standard package leaves out: the link between your ERP and your CRM, the portal your customers use, the step Peppol did not remove. Fixed prices, delivered from the Utrecht region, and you own every line of code.

In short

Custom software pays when the process is what sets you apart and no package fits it without workarounds. For most Flemish SMEs the value is in connecting what already runs, such as Odoo, Teamleader, Exact Online, WinBooks or Octopus, and in automating what Peppol did not: since 1 January 2026 Belgian B2B invoices arrive as structured data, but matching, exceptions and approval are still manual in most companies. Crux Digits works in three fixed steps: an audit at €2,500, a Production-ready MVP at €20,000 and production from €50,000, excl. VAT, with all source code handed over.

From workaround to software

What a custom build replaces

Five steps from the manual workaround to software you own.

  1. Hands typing on a laptop at a deskToday

    The manual workaround

Data typed from one system into another, every day, by someone whose time is worth more.

  2. Hands on a laptop keyboard with code on the screenIntegration

Systems that talk to each other

Odoo, Teamleader, Exact Online or WinBooks connected through their APIs.

  3. A bookkeeper working with a laptop and a calculatorAfter Peppol

    Invoices matched, not typed

Structured Peppol invoices matched to orders and receipts; only exceptions reach a person.

  4. A laptop showing a dashboard with chartsPortal

    Customers serve themselves

Orders, status and documents in a web portal with the right roles and an audit trail.

  5. A team handing over documents around a desk with laptopsHandover

    Your code, documented

Production handed over with documentation, access and all source code. No licence fee.

Build or buy

When not to build

If a package does 90% of the job and the rest is a habit rather than a competitive edge, buy the package and change the habit. Custom software is right when the workaround costs more each year than the build, when the process is how you win work, or when the data has to stay under your control. The audit answers that question on your own figures, and it is allowed to conclude that you should not build.

How it runs

Fixed price, your code, delivered from Utrecht

Audit, €2,500: the process mapped, systems and data checked, a scope with a fixed price. Production-ready MVP, €20,000: the core working in your systems, tested with your team. Production, from €50,000: integrated, secured, monitored and handed over with documentation and all source code. Prices excl. VAT; for Belgian businesses the VAT is normally reverse-charged. Discovery and go-live on site in Flanders, the build remotely. Where AI is part of the software, the EU AI Act risk checker shows the duties that come with it. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you connect to Odoo, Teamleader or Exact Online?

Yes, through their APIs. The audit checks which data and actions the API of your version exposes, so the scope and fixed price are based on what the integration can actually do.

Does Peppol make invoice automation unnecessary?

No. Since 1 January 2026 Belgian B2B invoices arrive as structured Peppol data, which removes the reading step. Matching invoices to orders and receipts, handling exceptions and approval remain work that software can take over.

Who owns the software?

You do. At handover you receive all source code, documentation and access, with no licence fee to Crux Digits for continued use.

Is custom software subsidised in Flanders?

Not through the kmo-portefeuille, whose advice pillar was abolished on 1 February 2026 and which never covered development work. VLAIO has innovation support for development projects with real innovation content, assessed per application.

How long does a first version take?

The audit takes one to two weeks. A Production-ready MVP usually takes four to six weeks after that, depending on the number of integrations.

What does custom software cost?

An audit at €2,500, a Production-ready MVP at €20,000 and production from €50,000, excl. VAT. The price is fixed per step, so the risk of overrun sits with us.
