Looking for a DataNorth alternative

DataNorth is one of the most visible AI suppliers in the Netherlands, and for a lot of buyers it is the right call. This page explains what it sells according to its own site, who it genuinely suits, and the specific situation where a small fixed-price team is the better answer. If that situation is not yours, we say so.

In short

DataNorth sells a full ladder from awareness to build: demos, webinars and speakers, then training and hackathons, then consulting, strategy and assessments, then a proof of concept, development, or an AI team you hire. That breadth suits an organisation that is still deciding what it wants. If you already know the one process you need automated, a small senior team that quotes a fixed price for that build is usually the shorter and more checkable route. Both are legitimate; they answer different questions.

Method

How this comparison was made

Every firm below was read on its own website on 2 September 2026: the homepage, the about page and the services pages. We describe each firm the way it describes itself, and we say plainly where we could not check something.

Their offer

What DataNorth publishes on its own site

DataNorth structures its services into four tiers, and the structure itself tells you who it is built for.

Their strength

When DataNorth is the better choice

We would point you to them, or to a firm shaped like them, in three situations.

The organisation has not decided yet. If the honest state of play is that some people are enthusiastic and others are not, a demo and a workshop are worth more than a build. That is a real service and it is priced as one.

You want to hire capability, not commission a project. Their Create tier includes hiring an AI team. If your plan is to build an internal capability with external people alongside it, that is a different contract shape from a fixed-price delivery, and it is one we do not offer.

You want one supplier across the whole journey. Awareness, training, strategy and build under one contract has real procurement value. It is fewer suppliers to manage and one relationship to hold accountable.

The difference

Where we are structurally different

The difference is not quality, it is shape, and shape is what you should actually compare.

Be honest

When we are the wrong call

Do not hire us if what you need is a keynote that changes minds in a boardroom, a training programme for forty people, or an embedded team for a year. Those are real needs and we do not serve them well. Ask DataNorth, or ai.nl for the awareness end specifically.

Equally, if your data is scattered and nothing can be trusted yet, the honest first step is data engineering rather than a model, and firms like Xomnia or Cmotions are built for that work. We would rather tell you that in the first call than three weeks into a project.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Crux Digits cheaper than DataNorth?

We cannot answer that honestly, because DataNorth does not publish prices and we will not guess at them. What we can say is that our three prices are published on our own pricing page, so you can compare a real number against whatever quote you receive rather than comparing two estimates.

What does DataNorth do that you do not?

Keynotes, webinars, hackathons, large training programmes and hiring out an AI team. Those are a real part of their offer and none of them are part of ours. If that is what you need, they are the better supplier and we would say so on a call.

Can I use both?

Yes, and it is a sensible pattern. Buyers sometimes run an awareness or training track with one supplier while a fixed-price build runs with another. The two contracts do not conflict as long as it is clear who owns the delivered system.

How was this comparison researched?

By reading datanorth.ai on 2 September 2026: the homepage, the about page and the services pages. Every description of their offer here comes from their own words on that date. We publish no claim about their prices, headcount or results because they do not publish those themselves.

Not sure which shape you need?

Tell us the process that is costing you and we will say plainly whether we are the right supplier for it. If we are not, we will tell you who is.
